A psychic is someone who has powers to detect invisible Universe, to foresee events in the future or to contact spirits.
There are many types of psychic powers. These are often grouped under titles such as sixth sense, Extrasensory perception, inner sight or intuition.
Am I psychic?
Everybody has some psychic ability. If you have ever had a sense that something was going to happen in advance, you are tuning into your latent abilities. For example:
Not everyone who is psychic is a medium. A medium is someone who can contact and receive messages from the spirit world. They may also have other powers including clairvoyance.
One of the most famous mediums of recent times is Doris stokes(1920-1987), a British medium who helped to make mediumship popular in the late twentieth century. She claimed to have started seeing spirits in childhood. Repeated attempts were made to prove her a fraud but none succeeded. In the 1970s she took part in a series of tests of her ability live on television in America, which raised her profile considerably.
More recently, television has helped to make other mediums famous. These Include: Derek Acorah, a British medium who often appears on television and author of The psychic Adventures of Derek Acorah.
How do I become a medium?
Some mediums are born with the ability.Other acquire the skill in childhood or as an adult, sometimes recognizing the skill after contact with another medium.
You can train your ability to be a medium if you have a natural talent. But although we all have some psychic powers, not all of us have the ability to be a medium.

| A Himalayan Sadhu. |
are many psychics dwelling in the remote parts of Himalayas and in some nowhere parts in India. But finding a Psychic or the best term "GURU" is always difficult. Many psychics advertise, however you should be careful about anyone who charges exorbitant fees, and always go by your instinct. There are frauds out there. You would not go to an unlicensed doctor or professional, use the same discrimination to pick a suitable medium/psychic. Listen to your gut Instinct.
Warning: You will still find fraudulent psychics, Here are some Warning signals:
- The psychic is more interested in your money than the reason you are seeing him.
- He tells you that your future will definitely happen in a particular way if you take certain action. A psychic can tell probabilities but no future set in stone: people will always have free will.
- He asks too many personal questions - a genuine psychic does not need to know this information. He relies on the information he receives from his extrasensory powers.
- He guarantees a specific result, for example that he can contact a dead relative. A genuine psychic cannot guarantee results.
